About Virginia Alumni

The Virginia Region Alumni Association of Phi Theta Kappa was chartered in 1996, as one of the first regional alumni associations of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.  Since 1996, Virginia Alumni members have supported the Virginia Region of Phi Theta Kappa by providing scholarships to Virginia Region campus chapters for various educational and fellowship events, as well as donating funds to Virginia Region candidates for International offices and supporting their candidacy at International Conventions. Virginia Alumni members have served as volunteers at Regional events, developed and conducted workshops for Leadership conferences to train incoming chapter officers, and developed activities for Virginia Regional events. The Virginia Alumni also sponsor a Senior College Fair each year at the Virginia Regional Convention.

'The mission of the Virginia Region Alumni Association of Phi Theta Kappa is to welcome and encourage our members to use their time, talents, and treasures in support of the people, programs and philosophy of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.'

2010 Phi Theta Kappa International Convention - Alumni Association
Award of Merit

We are pleased to announce the Virginia Region Alumni Association is this years recepient of the highest award bestowed to an alumni association - the Alumni Association Award of Merit.

Two VA Region Alumni representatives (Laurel Rothenberger, advisor and Deb Dale, Past-president) appeared on the International stage to accept the award.

This award was achieved through the efforts of numerous dedicated alumnus who dilgently served throughout the year at a variety of events.  One of the largest and most successful events that reached a multitude of individuals on an International level was Hosting the 2009 Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Institute held at the University of Richmond, Richmond, Virginia.
